Apostle islands - Bayfield, Wisconsin

Come join us to Sail and Explore the scenic shores of the 22 Apostle Islands located on the Southwest end of Lake Superior and form a 720 square mile cruising ground. The Apostle Islands are a "National Lakeshore" so the islands are unsettled and in their natural state. Our journey begins in Bayfield, Wisconsin, "The Gateway to the Apostle Islands."

Apostle Islands sailing offers challenges of varying weather conditions from whispers of wind where one wishes for a larger "Iron Jenny", to gale force winds, where Lake Superior lives up to it’s reputation as being "Gitchee Goomee". However, the Apostle Islands also the offer security of being within the sight of land and there’s always a lee shore to duck behind when the wind comes up in a blow. The sailing is always fun and challenging at the same time.

Some of the places will sail, anchor and explore include: Stockton Island, which has it’s own quarry plus a population of black bears; Basswood and Sand Islands to see the Bald Eagles; and Raspberry Island for a tour of the restored lighthouse. There are many more exciting, adventurous, and fun islands to visit.

All individuals who like the outdoors, water, and have a desire to sail are invited to join us. The sailboat has berths for four or five crew. Bring your friends and family or join a group already assembled and meet new friends.

Our sailing adventure will take place aboard a 35 foot sloop rigged vessel. The package includes your berth, all the provisioning of the sailboat, and a highly qualified licensed captain and sailing skipper. The entire package financial outlay is only $450 per person. Three Day Weekends Arranged upon requests.
